This butterfly, Doleschallia bisaltide, is from Bali in Indonesia. It is known as:

A

The Krakatoa, after the Indonesian volcano that erupted in 1883, killing more than 36,000 people. The pattern and colouring on the underside of the wings looks like an erupting volcano.

Autumn leaf. The underside looks like a dead leaf and it was named by Western experts, even though there is no autumn in Bali as it is close to the Equator.
